About Me

Hi, my name is Amanda Barnett, aka the Scattered Cook. Welcome to my chaotic, jumbled, and sometimes disorderly world of vegetarian cooking! I love experimenting with new recipes, feeding people, and I also really love writing, which makes this whole cooking blog thing kinda perfect.

I started blogging a few years ago after becoming vegetarian and realizing how complicated, time consuming, expensive, and downright weird a lot of the recipes were. I knew there had to be a better way, and decided to start making my own recipes and sharing them with the world.

I try to focus on using fresh and healthy ingredients when possible, and finding ways to make my recipes inclusive for vegetarian and non-vegetarians alike (aka delicious). I also work full time, so I try to come up with quick recipes that are easy to take for lunches or put together when you've had a long day at work and your other options are slaving over a hot stove or stopping for fast food. But I will never judge you for ordering pizza. Sometimes you just have to order a pizza.

Other hobbies include decorating, gardening, floral arranging, going on day hikes, being in nature, drawing, reading, crocheting, bugging Sally, writing stories, and not baking - nobody wants that.

Questions, quandaries, conundrums? Send me an e-mail: scatteredcook@gmail.com!
